Wired Or Wireless Audio?

Wired Or Wireless Audio?

With increasing demand for wireless audio systems, these questions often arise, WIRELESS OR WIRELESS AUDIO? Both have its pros and cons in aspects like usage of space inside a home, ease of use, additional features, and most importantly, quality of the audio itself.

When it comes to wired systems, they are built for high quality performance for the avid audio enthusiast. The reason for this is simple, It is much easier to transmit greater amounts of electrical data through a physical wire than it is to send on a wireless signal. So, it is the highest quality with respect to the audio system being use by the listener.

The drawback of a Wired system is the visual and physical space that the components of the audio system need to occupy and in some cases, the wiring interconnecting the loudspeakers and subwoofer to the AV receivers and amplifiers are visible throughout the setup due to poor planning during the installation process. There is are ways to hide the wiring well before the installation process for the audio components begins but require access to a series of conduits under the existing flooring of the room that the audio system is set-up in or the listener opts for a complete in/on-wall & in-ceiling loudspeaker setup that both drives up the cost during construction and can only be installed by a trained professional where the wiring is completely hidden.

Whereas, Wireless audio systems are built for convenience, high functionality and sometimes portability while delivering high quality audio wirelessly. The pros of such a setup is that there is no audio cabling required so there are no visible cables in the space other than the power cords that, with  little-to-no effort can be tucked away or hidden easily.

These systems are made convenient for the listeners to help them integrate their existing smart home devices to seamlessly connect with each other through a Wi-Fi signal and the entire interconnected system can be control remotely from a smartphone, tablet, laptop, Etc., with assistance from recommended applications.

A Wireless system’s major drawback has to do with connectivity. Since the entire setup relies on a strong Wi-Fi connection or connectivity between the surround system there sometimes may be an interference between them and may be unable to connect to each-other if the system is not employing leading-edge infrared communication technology.
